Technology products re-seller Virtual Works East Africa has partnered with US data storage provider EMC Corp, to add value to the latter’s products and distribute them in the region.
The deal will see Virtual Works offer data storage and back-up services in Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda, Burundi and Ethiopia, where it has a presence.
Virtual Works chief executive Abraham Parel said his firm would maintain its focus on delivering enterprise-centric data centres and software in its new role.
“EMC is among the world’s most successful and innovative storage and data management companies and will be an ideal fit for us in delivering high quality products for our enterprise customers,” Mr Parel said in a statement.
The local IT firm has previously worked with re-sellers in telecommunications, financial, manufacturing, commercial and governments in the SADC region with Namibia, Mozambique, Zambia, Malawi, Mauritius as its most important countries.
“Having committed a significant amount of time in both training and accreditation, we are pleased to welcome Virtual Works into the business partner programme” said Mr Havier Haddad, channel and alliances director, Turkey, Eastern Europe, Africa and Middle East at EMC.
“Along with providing added value to their customers, Virtual Works will now benefit from our tiered programme, including the opportunity to further position itself strategically in the market,” said Mr Havier.
